Board of Education Statement on District response to COVID-19
As we come to the end of a long and unprecedented week, we want to take a moment to thank Superintendent Hite, and the many teachers, principals, and school communities who have jumped in feet first to serve our students and communities in this difficult time. As always, student learning remains our first priority, and we are proud of the many innovative ways our schools are finding to reach out and provide learning opportunities for students across the city. We know this is a challenging time for parents and caregivers as well; and as this situation evolves, we ask that our communities give our District and schools time to find effective solutions that will serve students in new and creative ways. While we hope that this will not be a long-term reality, we know that our District, schools and community are up for meeting any challenge in innovative and equitable ways that support our students. Thank you!
Al llegar al final de una semana larga y sin precedentes, queremos tomar un momento para agradecer al Superintendente Hite, a los muchos maestros, directores y comunidades escolares que se han puesto de pie primero para servir a nuestros estudiantes y comunidades en este momento difícil. Como siempre, el aprendizaje estudiantil sigue siendo nuestra primera prioridad, y estamos orgullosos de las muchas formas innovadoras que nuestras escuelas están encontrando para llegar y brindar oportunidades de aprendizaje a los estudiantes de toda la ciudad. Sabemos que este es un momento difícil para los padres y cuidadores también; y a medida que esta situación evoluciona, pedimos que nuestras comunidades den tiempo a nuestro Distrito y a las escuelas para encontrar soluciones efectivas que sirvan a los estudiantes de formas nuevas y creativas. Si bien esperamos que esto no sea una realidad a largo plazo, sabemos que nuestro Distrito, escuelas y comunidad están preparados para enfrentar cualquier desafío de manera innovadora y equitativa que apoye a nuestros estudiantes. ¡Gracias!
