9 individuals make up the Board of Education. While we have varying professional backgrounds and interests, the one thing that we have in common is our passion to improve the quality of education for the children of Philadelphia. We have participated in listening sessions, visited schools, and met with parents and community members to learn more about the hopes and concerns of Philadelphia’s diverse constituencies. We have accomplished much in the short time that we’ve been appointed, but we know that there is much more work to be done. We look forward to hearing from constituents, working together to come up with solutions, and making change within the School District of Philadelphia. Read more about the return of local control.
