We are all dealing with a tremendous amount of uncertainty by Leticia Egea Hinton
I want to take a moment to acknowledge how difficult these last several weeks have been for our communities and our city, and to thank the District, our educators, and our school and city staff for everything they are doing to support and educate our children.
As a grandmother of school-age children, I have seen my family’s day-to-day life change and know that my colleagues and so many of you have seen your lives change as well.
We are all dealing with a tremendous amount of uncertainty. And while we don’t know when things will get back to normal, I am both optimistic and hopeful because Philadelphians are resilient.
I want to ask for your patience and understanding as the Board and the District move forward. There are a lot of unanswered questions. We have already learned a lot and have a lot more to learn.
There will be more challenges, but please know that as Board members, we are here because we care deeply about educating Philadelphia’s children. That is what is most important now — we are focused on moving forward and doing everything possible to support and educate our children.
