Naviance is a commercial online tool designed to support students in completing a variety of college and career readiness activities. School personnel can give students assignments, or “tasks,” and the platform is capable of capturing information about whether these tasks are completed. In 2016-17, the District did not specify which Naviance tasks should be prioritized, so assignments were at the discretion of individual schools. In 2017-18, however, the District identified grade-specific Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tasks for grades 6 through 12. This report summarizes the usage of Naviance across these two years, with an emphasis on identifying whether tasks were assigned, and, if so, whether they were completed at the both the student and school level. For both years, analyses are also presented by grade level and by race/ethnicity.
