IMPORTANT UPDATE: All data requests requiring analysis of student- or employee-level data are experiencing delays in fulfillment.
The School District of Philadelphia frequently receives data requests from internal SDP offices as well as external individuals and organizations in order to conduct research studies, evaluations, and surveys involving students, teachers, principals, and administrators. All individuals and organizations interested in conducting research on the District must have their proposals reviewed and approved by the Office of Research and Evaluation’s Research Review Committee. This includes questionnaires/surveys and evaluations of interventions being conducted in the schools.
We encourage you to look in depth at our Open Data page to get a better understanding of the data that is already available, as well as the type of data we might be able to provide.
All external data requests – both research and non-research – should be submitted using the Online Data Request Form. Due to the volume of requests received, it will take at least 60 days for your data request to be filled (beyond the research review process, if applicable). Additionally, external data requests will be assessed a processing fee, which will be indicated on your data agreement and invoiced once your request is filled.
Any relevant attachments or questions related to the status of your request should be addressed to sdpdatarequest@philasd.org.
