As a member District of the Urban School Food Alliance, the Operations Division of Food Services attends two in-person meetings annually hosted at one of the nineteen districts participating in the alliance. The Urban School Food Alliance was created by school food service professionals in 2012 to address the unique needs of the nation’s largest school districts.
The in-person meeting allows member districts to learn from one another, hear updates from USDA, learn more about current research, discuss critical topics, and see school meal operations firsthand at the host district. The meeting is also an opportunity to share best practices, as photographed above of Elizabeth Keegan, Coordinator of Dietetic Services, and Amy Virus, Manager of Administrative and Support Services, sharing a taste of Philadelphia with the group.
