Earlier this month, Deputy COO Shaun Douglas, and Transportation Services team members Lauren Wallace, Freda Grant, and Nadine Miller joined Deputy COO Teresa Fleming in Texas for the 2023 Transporting Students with Disabilities (TSD) Conference. This year, Teresa was named the Transportation Director of the Year, and the Operations Division showed up to cheer her on!

The TSD Conference is the ultimate platform for transportation professionals nationwide. Operations Division team members were able to connect with like-minded individuals, attend educational sessions and workshops, and explore product demonstrations.

Transportation Team Members attended several trainings while at the Conference, such as:

• NHTSA Child Passenger Safety on School Buses National Training
  The newly updated 2023 Child Passenger Safety on School Buses National Training provided an overview of the use of child safety restraint systems on school buses, with a focus on preschool-aged children and children with disabilities.
• Hands-on School Bus Evacuations for Students with Special Needs & Preschoolers
  Obtained a better understanding of evacuation best practices and know-how to properly and quickly get students of all ages off the bus before they even board.
• Roadeo Training & Competition
  The goal of this competition was to help increase their knowledge of special needs transportation.
