The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is beginning its third year of meetings to help keep community advocates and stakeholders informed about the District’s plans and progress on environmental work. The Council meets with the Office of Environmental Management & Services quarterly. It engages with representatives from across the city – parents, community members, union representatives, and District leaders – so they can hear directly from subject matter experts, receive in-depth updates, and bring important information back to their communities about our work.
The most recent meeting took place on Monday, January 30, and focused on Sustainability led by the District’s Sustainability Manager, Megan Garner, who gave an outline of our program, known as GreenFutures. Attendees also heard from Steve Link on important updates on asbestos, hydration stations, and lead-safe certifications. More information about the EAC and past meeting presentations can be found here.
