Building Engineers were asked to complete a walkthrough of their building, and check it for fire safety using a fire safety checklist. In addition, they were asked to complete a radiator cover survey, and write an essay as to why their school is fire-safe! After reviewing all of the entries, Mark DiGiambattista from the Academy at Palumbo was the chosen winner. Mark will receive a winner’s plaque, a VISA gift card, and the choice of getting help with either spring landscaping or snow shoveling during the next storm.

Facilities Area Managers were asked to write an essay on fire safety, assist their Building Engineers in writing essays, and encourage them to participate in the contest. Eva Nevens and Gus Lover were the chosen winners, and each of them will receive a VISA gift card, a cleaning crew to work at a school of their choice for one day, and a ride-on scrubber to give to the school of their choosing.
