Facility Area Coordinator, Network 8

Next month, Tom will have been with the District for 30. He began his career as a Fireman Trainee, which is now known as a Building Engineer Trainee. He was the Building Engineer in several schools throughout Southwest and West Philadelphia.

In 1998, Tom transferred to the Maintenance Department as a Painter Glazier. In the late 1990’s and early 2000s the Operations Division went “high tech” and added the use of cell phones and computers. This change opened up several FAC positions and Tom was promoted to FAC in 2001.

In this role, Tom said there is a complexity of each individual facility and of course different personalities he comes across. He takes this in stride, and does his best to provide a clean and safe environment for all schools he’s responsible for.

Tom is a proud graduate of John Bartram High School.
