Facility Area Coordinator, Network 11

Derek joined the District 1988 as a Fireman Trainee and became an FAC in 2006. Throughout his three decades of work, he was the recipient of the Rose Lindenbaum Improvement of Education Award, and received the Perfect Attendance Award twice.

Derek said he has been blessed to work with staff at many locations who take ownership of their facility and have pride in their craft. He is amazed to see his colleagues go above and beyond on a daily basis. He believes being an FAC is a unique life lesson that has taught him to never judge a book by it’s cover.

Derek is a proud graduate of Simon Gratz High School.
