The Office of New Schools Models exists to advance innovation in the District by supporting the design and development of new and innovative school models.
Our office strives to make the Philadelphia School District a center for education innovation, where every child has access to a world-class education that is highly personalized, and that prepares young people to be lifelong learners and contributing members of their communities.
The Office of New School Models (ONSM) is a research, development, and design hub for education leaders and entrepreneurs who are actively working toward the development of innovative school models that reflect students’ needs, and encourage flexibility and innovation in learning. We are open to nonprofits and community members who have a vision for effective school models. As part of the District’s Innovation Network, ONSM believes school design must be a continuous process. We also believe that design work in education must bring together the experiences and perspectives of students, families and educators, and proven best practices for student success.
