The School District of Philadelphia’s new Assistant Principal Onboarding consists of a summer intensive followed by monthly professional development. This onboarding program helps new APs transition more successfully into their new roles by teaching them how to avoid the pitfalls and distractions that may derail them. While going through the onboarding and training process, new APs will develop important skills through succinct, skill-based monthly sessions based on a wide range of indicators as defined in the Leadership Pathway Framework.
