Pennsylvania Intermediate Unit (IU) 26 receives a yearly federal grant award pursuant to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). This award provides supplemental assistance to educate public school students with disabilities. A portion of the award, determined by a formula, is dedicated by law to provide supplemental assistance to students and educators in non-public schools pursuant to the purposes of IDEA. The non-public school support allocation is called Equitable Participation (EP) and is to be administered by IU 26 in consultation with nonpublic schools for services to non-public school students and/or staff for training.
The links to the right of this text provide additional information on how EP is determined and administered.
