Thousands of families, community members, vendors, and students joined the School District of Philadelphia for the 11th Annual Back 2 School Event on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

Thousands of backpacks stuffed with school supplies were given out and over 100 vendors provided resources, information, and giveaways for all aspects of back to school needs.

For the second year in a row, Radio One offered free cuts and curls hairstyles for students. Attendees enjoyed Bassett’s Ice Cream, Wawa tea and lemonade, and Herr’s Chips, along with musical entertainment from Philadelphia public school students and staff as well as local artists.
