Jessica Q. Ross-White is the director of special projects in the Office of Educational Technology. She brings nearly twenty years of experience in teaching, mentoring, volunteering, training, curriculum design, and administration experience to this position. Her work in K-12 education, as well as corporate settings, gives her a broad framework and body of experience to bring to the District.
One of the largest and most visible initiatives steered by Ross-White is the Blended Learning Initiative, which has been adopted in over 200 classrooms. To ensure the success and impact of this project, Ross-White coaches and develops staff responsible for implementation and uses the data from the technology component of Blended Learning to focus on student growth. She also manages the development and delivery of District-wide professional development to support schools.
Deep compassion for the needs of children and the drive to see students succeed are what motivate Ross-White. A key component to her success comes from her ability to find creative solutions to benefit students, that often involve numerous stakeholders and resources. Her work is rooted in student-centered solutions that afford flexibility to meet the diverse needs of our schools.
As a career educator, student, teacher advocate, and mentor, she believes that education and service are the pathway for changing diversity, social economic disparity, and equity in schools.
