Irene brings a passion for both K-12 teaching and adult education into her work with the Office of Educational Technology. Irene has worked teaching English as a Second Language to adults in various settings, from instructing adult learners in her own immigrant community, to working remotely with students from China to practice their interviewing skills in English and gain acceptance into Ivy League universities.

As a middle school English Language Arts teacher, Irene worked at a 1:1 charter school where every student worked on an iPad and her lessons were published and delivered via iTunes University. These experiences led Irene to have a passion for integrating technology in a meaningful way that benefits both students and teachers.

Through modeling lessons, co-teaching, and helping teachers plan, Irene is committed to helping teachers see technology as a way to make teaching more manageable, as well as a way to really enrich both teacher and student experiences in the classroom.
