Heather’s career in urban education began in Philadelphia in 2003, specializing in serving students and families of students with exceptional learning needs. She has experience in early childhood, elementary, middle and high school settings in both instructional and administrative roles.
Heather joined the Office of Educational Technology in 2018 as a contracted professional developer in support of the School District of Philadelphia’s Student Information System. In this role, Heather collaborated with District central office teams to launch new modules and tools in the SIS, as well as provided support to a variety of school-based staff. As the team’s focus expanded to support additional systems and initiatives, such as the Oracle ERP Finance System, Kronos, Certify, Taleo and the School Selection process, Heather’s role evolved as well. She became the Coordinator of the Information Systems Training Team in 2020, and currently serves as the Director of Systems Professional Development and Training with the Office of Educational Technology.
Heather is committed to supporting District users in accessing, understanding and implementing both existing and new District Information Systems with confidence in order to improve efficiency, accessibility and data quality for users.
