As reported by Denise Magasich, CTE’s Industry Development Specialist for the Business cluster:
On Thursday, 1/19, five CTE Accounting students at Lincoln High School interviewed Ajay Ramesh, Vice President of Hilco Redevelopment Partners during a monthly mentoring session set up by Melodee R. Jackson, the office of CTE Work Based Learning Coordinator.
Lincoln High School was chosen to participate in the informational interview session which promotes career exposure and could possibly lead to a “paid internship” this summer.
On a monthly basis, 3-5 students from participating schools research Hilco and its principles and create a list of questions. Northeast High School, Edison, and West Philly High School have also participated.
Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP), is turning the former PES Refinery into The Bellwether District, a 1300-acre state-of-the-art campus. HRP will remediate and transform a relic of the past into a green, sustainable development and an economic engine for all of Philadelphia. The monthly interview series is part of their corporate responsibility endeavor.
