The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has introduced statewide Pathways to Graduation — expanded high school graduation requirements that were originally made into law in 2018 and are currently planned to go into effect beginning this 2022-2023 school year.

District Receives $1M Grant to Reduce Youth Violence
The School District of Philadelphia has received a $1 million dollar grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to address youth violence. This award will be used to fund implementation of the Youth Violence Reduction Initiative at John Bartram High School.

Book Trust Receives $150,000 from JPMorgan Chase and Kevin Hart to Increase Literacy Access for District Students
Acclaimed actor, comedian and children’s book author Kevin Hart, who grew up in Philadelphia, joined Book Trust and JPMorgan Chase at Robert Morris School where he announced a matching donation of $75,000.
