In 1987, following the petitioning of the National Women’s History Project, March was declared “Women’s History Month.” Since then, Presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating March as “Women’s History Month.”  This month, the School District of Philadelphia celebrates and acknowledges the contributions women have made to our District, city, and nation.
