The School District of Philadelphia is proud to recognize Ms. Abigail Risser as Teacher of the Month at Warren G. Harding Middle School. Through her exceptional dedication and innovative spirit, Ms. Risser has made remarkable contributions that extend far beyond traditional classroom instruction.

Since joining the Harding community, Ms. Risser has established several groundbreaking initiatives that have enriched student life. As founder of the school’s Social Justice Club, she has created an inclusive forum where students explore contemporary issues while developing their leadership skills. Club members, under her mentorship, design and implement community service projects that make meaningful impacts in their neighborhood.

Ms. Risser’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment led her to establish Harding’s first Gay Straight Alliance, demonstrating the School District’s dedication to supporting all students. Her classroom serves as a model of acceptance and understanding, reflecting our district’s values of diversity and inclusion.

Her drive to enhance student experiences extends to athletics as well.
