Introducing I AM SDP – A Brand New District Campaign

Dear School District of Philadelphia Community,

Today, I am excited to announce the launch of a brand new District-wide engagement campaign called I AM SDP.

From the first days of my tenure as Superintendent, I have signed my communications with ‘In Partnership.’ This is because our Board of Education and I believe that partnership and connection is critical to our success as a community. Of course, we believe that you, the Philadelphia community, already understand the value of connection when it comes to the success of our children. In fact, since long before I arrived in Philadelphia, you have made clear that there are two primary topics that, should we be able to effectively communicate about them, would serve to increase the connection you feel to the District:

• the success stories of students who are graduating prepared for college and career, and
• the inspirational stories about the educators that are supporting those students.

Our amazing students and educators are at the heart of our strategic work to Accelerate Philly. The I AM SDP campaign is designed to tell their stories and share the many ways we are preparing our students for success after high school. It will be a multi-year campaign, annually highlighting a group of outstanding individuals who embody the District’s core values and are examples of the District’s ability to help students succeed. This year’s campaign kickoff features three extraordinary teachers who give all of themselves to our students every day, and two 2024 graduates who are now pursuing the dreams that were nurtured as students in our schools.
