Dear School District of Philadelphia Families,

The Find Your Fit school selection process for the 2025-2026 school year is open for one more week. As such, we want to make all families aware of the resources that are available to help applicants navigate the application process, and share some important reminders as we quickly approach the closing of the application period.

If you are considering participating in school selection, please use these resources before you apply!
Criteria-Based High School Open Houses: Visit schools in-person and virtually, meet the staff, and learn more about the school culture. View the list of upcoming open houses here. ● Application Assistance Labs: The Find Your Fit School Selection team is offering ApplicationAssistance Labs at schools across the city for families during the application window. Please visit the school selection website for the hours and locations of upcoming labs.

  • How-To-Guides: The How-To-Guides are step-by-step documents that describe various actions that families will need to take when completing an online application. The guides can be found here.
  • School Selection Town Halls: Watch the school selection town hall recordings to learn more about the overall school selection and application process.

Important Reminders

The Find Your Fit school selection application closes on October 23, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Since that is only a week away, we want to encourage everyone to act urgently to complete and submit the application as soon as possible.

  • In our new school selection system, each applicant will be able to rank their top five school/program choices – a critically important update. It is important to remember to choose a total of 5 schools for which you are eligible. Limiting options will not improve the chances of receiving an offer – in fact, the chances will decrease.
  • Applicants may receive either one offer or zero offers during the initial response phase. Offers will be made based on the order in which an applicant ranked their five schools, the applicant’s eligibility, and seats available at the school/program.
  • Applicants will remain on the waitlist only for higher ranked schools to which they did not receive an offer.
  • Zip code preference is still considered, but the zip codes have changed slightly. The six zip codes are 19140, 19133, 19132, 19136, 19124, and 19134.
  • While assessment information, including the PSSA, is still required to obtain seats at criteria-based schools, the application system will no longer accept Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA) as an approved standardized assessment.

We invite you to find answers to your additional questions at the school selection website. After reviewing the website, if you are unable to find the answers you need, please reach out to us via our two-way communication platform, Let’s Talk, by clicking the Contact Us tab at the bottom of the school selection website. We ask for your patience as we usually experience higher-than-normal call and email volume at this time of the year.

Thank you for choosing the School District of Philadelphia for your child’s education. We look forward to supporting you and your child throughout the Find Your Fit school selection process for the 2025-2026school year. We are committed to partnering with you to prepare them to imagine and realize any future they desire.
