Dear School District of Philadelphia Families and Staff,

Due to the winter snow storm that is expected to impact the Philadelphia area starting later this evening, we are cancelling all after-school and athletic activities scheduled for this afternoon.

This provides our staff, students and families with the time needed to get home safely and prepare for the storm. Schools will still dismiss at their normal times.

The School District is already activating plans to prep all roadways, walkways and stairs on District properties, and support the safe clearing of snow from these areas as needed. At this time, we do not anticipate any impact to school schedules or District operations on Monday.

We will continue to work closely with the city’s Office of Emergency Management to monitor weather and road conditions throughout the weekend, and will update you IF there are any changes to school schedules or District operations on Monday. Again, we are cancelling all after-school and athletic activities for this afternoon.
