Phase II Learning Model Selection Survey Opens Tuesday, April 6
Hello Families,
On Tuesday, April 6th, the School District will open its Phase II Learning Model Selection Process, allowing families of all students in grades 3-5 and students with complex needs in grades 6-8 the opportunity to opt into hybrid learning this school year. The selection survey closes on Tuesday, April 13th.
Phase II families will be able to choose between the hybrid learning model and the 100% digital learning model — whatever works best given the needs of your child and family. If you choose hybrid learning, your child will transition to a mix of in-person and digital learning each week, based on an assigned schedule, beginning the week of Monday, April 26, 2021. These schedules are designed to safely limit the number of students in schools each day and help maintain social distancing in all school spaces throughout the day.
I encourage you to view these Safe Return to School and Clean and Healthy Schools videos, and visit philasd.org/aes to learn more about the many layers of safety we have in place to protect the health and well-being of everyone in our schools. If you still have questions, you can call our hotline for English-speaking families at 215-400-5300, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hotlines in other languages can be found here.
Be sure to check your email on Tuesday, Tuesday, April 6th, for a link to the Learning Model Selection Survey. The email will come from portal-notification@philasd.org and the subject line will read “School District of Philadelphia – Fully Digital vs. Hybrid Learning Model Selection.” If you do not receive the email, first check your junk or spam folder. You can also call your child’s school directly to sign up for hybrid learning. If you do not respond by April 13th, your child will remain with 100% digital learning. Families selecting hybrid learning will be contacted by their child’s school by April 19th regarding next steps. As always, families that choose hybrid learning can return to 100% digital learning at any time.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we strive to meet your child’s learning needs.
Sincerely,
SDP Communications Team
