We asked Heaven our favorite list of questions:

Why do you think you were nominated as Senior of the Month?  I believe I was nominated as Senior of the Month because I always go out of my way to further my education, both inside and outside of school. I also think I’m a good role model for how seniors should strive toward their diplomas.

You were nominated by Ms. Danina Garcia. Explain your relationship to her? Explain their role in your experience at your school.  I was nominated by Ms. Danina, my English teacher. Ms. Danina is also our roster maker and has helped me enhance my education through other programs along the way.

What is one thing you’d like to share about yourself that most people don’t know about you? One thing I’d like to share about myself that most people don’t know is that I love crocheting.

What do you enjoy most when you are not at school? I enjoy reading and doing arts and crafts like crocheting and drawing.

How did you choose your high school? What is the best thing about attending school at Vaux? I chose my high school because I heard about their wonderful RWL program, where you can earn a credential while still in high school. The best thing about being at Vaux High School is the community; being a small school, everyone is close, like family.

What is one thing that the School District could do to improve our service to students?  I believe that offering students more opportunities to pursue dual enrollment courses will give them a chance to experience college and prepare for it before they go.

Heaven we are so excited for you – best of luck in the college and career of your dreams!
