We are thrilled to congratulate Keya Brame as the April Teacher of the Month for the School District of Philadelphia! Ms. Brame’s commitment to student-centered learning and leadership has created a transformative environment in her classroom. Her innovative approach, which includes having students facilitate lessons and share their expertise with peers, has inspired both her colleagues and the wider school community.
The surprise celebration for Ms. Brame was truly heartwarming. Students, colleagues, and even her parents gathered to express their admiration and gratitude for Ms. Brame’s dedication to education. Touched by the outpouring of love and support, Ms. Brame humbly acknowledged that her passion for teaching is fueled by the incredible students and colleagues she works with every day.
As we reflect on Ms. Brame’s accomplishments, it’s clear that her impact extends far beyond the walls of her classroom. In just four years with the School District of Philadelphia, she has taken on numerous leadership roles that have positively shaped our the Penn Alexander School community. From serving on hiring committees and the PFT building committee to helping establish the Black History Month Committee at Penn Alexander, Ms. Brame’s commitment to excellence and collaboration is evident in every endeavor she undertakes. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and visionary educator like Ms. Brame leading and inspiring us all.
