Special Registration and Assessment for Students Who Speak a Language Other Than English
PHILADELPHIA – On Monday, July 30th, The School District of Philadelphia is launching its annual Special Registration and Assessment for students who speak a language other than English.
Families will be given assistance to complete the new student registration process at the District’s Multilingual Assessment Center (MAC). Staff will be available to walk parents through the registration process, screen students in need of English as a Second Language (ESL) services, and provide resources and information about the School District. Translation and interpretation services will be provided for non-English speakers.
Last year, the MAC registered and assessed more than 1100 students including students from more than 80 countries, speaking more than 50 different languages.
