Dear School District of Philadelphia Families,

The School District of Philadelphia is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Back-to-School Celebration & Bus Tour! We are excited to hit the streets of Philadelphia to help families prepare for the first day of the 2023-2024 school year – Tuesday, September 5th.

As in previous years, the Tour is powered by a generous grant from Independence Blue Cross Foundation, and brings critical Back-to-School information and services right to your neighborhood. From July 31 through August 18, the bus will travel across Philly hosting eleven events, including 5 exciting Mega-Events co-sponsored by various partners including Radio One, Office Depot, and Roosevelt Mall. At these events you can:

  • enjoy snacks and frozen treats
  • participate in interactive, educational activities with your children
  • chat with our Street Team Ambassadors to get the back-to-school information you need
  • register your child for PreKindergarten through 12th grade
  • sign up for a Parent Portal account
  • get a free backpack and school supplies
  • at select Mega-Events, have your child receive for free the immunizations and school physicals required to attend school, and more.
