Also, from March 16-23, the School District will reopen its Learning Model Selection Process, allowing PreK-2 families who initially chose the 100% digital learning model in the fall the opportunity to opt into hybrid learning or remain 100% digital this school year. You will receive a link to the survey from your child’s school. If you choose hybrid learning: 1) you will be contacted by your child’s school between March 24-26, 2021, and 2) your child will attend school in person two days per week and engage in digital learning three days each week, based on an assigned schedule, beginning the week of Monday, April 5, 2021. If you do not respond to the survey, your child will remain with 100% digital learning.
The PFT will continue its school readiness reviews, with the goal of announcing the return dates for the remaining schools serving PreK-2 students by March 22nd, 2021. Once readiness reviews for all PreK-2 schools are completed, the PFT will begin reviews for the remaining schools serving students in third through 12th grade.
Thank you for your continued support as we welcome even more of our young people back for in-person learning next week and in the weeks to come. Together we can support healthy in-person learning environments for students and staff but only if everyone does their part by staying home if you are sick, pre-screening daily, wearing a mask or facial covering, and following all health and safety protocols. You can find details about these protocols and our hybrid learning plan at philasd.org/aes.
Sincerely,
William R. Hite Jr., Ed.D.
