Dear School District Families,

I am pleased to share that the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT) has now completed its readiness reviews for 22 more schools, all of which will reopen for in-person learning starting Monday, April 5th, for PreK-2 students whose families chose hybrid learning in the fall. PreK-2 teachers and support staff for these 22 schools will return to buildings this Wednesday, March 24th, to prepare for the return of our young learners. PFT has requested an additional day or two to complete its readiness review for Gilbert Spruance School. We will share information with that school community as soon as the review is complete.

The 22 schools opening for in-person learning for PreK-2 hybrid learning students only on April 5th are:

As previously shared, window fans that had previously been installed in classrooms in any of these schools will be replaced by air purifiers before students return.

What’s Next?

• The Learning Model Selection Survey for PreK-2 families closes tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23. PreK-2 students whose families are now opting into hybrid learning will start in-person learning two times per week beginning the week of April 5th.
• Now that PFT leaders have completed their readiness reviews for all schools serving PreK-2 students, they will begin reviews for the remaining schools.
