Welcoming Schools Resolution

In June 2021, the Board of Education passed the “Welcoming Schools” Resolution, in collaboration with community-led, Latinx immigrant organization, Juntos. The Resolution reinforces that all Philadelphia public schools are safe havens for immigrant students and calls for updated guidance and training for District stakeholders around keeping this commitment. The School District of Philadelphia has updated guidance and will provide training to teachers, administrators, and other staff, contractors, and volunteers on how to respond to issues involving immigration status and is putting in place supports for students who may be impacted by federal immigration enforcement actions.
