Renaissance Initiative

In October 2015, The School District of Philadelphia announced a plan to improve academic options for more than 5,000 students at 15 schools. The Renaissance Charter School initiative is a key part of the School District’s ongoing work to ensure all students have a great school close to where they live. Through the initiative, neighborhood schools with long-term academic and climate challenges are transformed under the leadership of a charter school team that is experienced with successfully turning around low-performing schools.
