2010 PSSA Information for Parents/Guardians
The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is administered in writing, reading and math, and science. This information sheet provides parents with information about the PSSA including the grades that are tested, what’s assessed, and what types of questions appear on the PSSA.

2009-10 District-wide Title I Parent Engagement Policy
Each year, the District works with parents to revise its Title I Parent Engagement Policy. Your child's school should have given students a copy to take home. Please contact the Office of Parent, Family, Community Engagement and Faith-based Partnerships at 215-400-4180 or click here to read the policy.
The federal and state government requires every school that receives Title I funds to develop a Parent-School Compact and Title I Parent Engagement Policy (with input from parents). Parents 'R' Equal Partners Program (PREP)
The Office of Parent, Family, Community Engagement and Faith-based Partnerships ensures the engagement of parents and supports effective family, school, and community partnerships. Starting in September 2009, the District wants one parent (and one alternate) per school to serve on a District-wide Parents 'R' Equal Partners (PREP) Team.
2010 ACCESS for ELLs Parent/Guardian Report: Translations of the Cover Letter and the Report
The ACCESS for ELLs test, which is a measure of the attainment of English proficiency, was administered to all the English Language Learners (ELL) in the District in January-March, 2010. Reports for this assessment will be sent home to parents by the schools.

IDEA Annual Notice
The Philadelphia Public Schools and the Philadelphia Intermediate Unit (IU26) provide special education and related service to resident children with disabilities who are ages three through twenty-one. The purpose of this notice is to describe (1) the types of disabilities that might qualify the child for such programs and services, (2) the special education program and related services that are available, (3) the process by which the public schools screen and evaluate such students to determine eligibility, and (4) the special rights that pertain to such children and their parents or legal guardians.
