Dear School District of Philadelphia Parents and Students,

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month — a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the crucial role that CTE plays in preparing many of our students for careers in the local, regional and national workforce. Our more than 120 CTE programs across over 30 high schools provide intensive training and hands-on learning opportunities for thousands of students who are interested in gaining professional skills for a variety of careers. Students enrolled in these programs are taught by industry professionals from the area of focus they choose, and acquire both the technical and academic skills they need to succeed after high school.

This CTE month, we are celebrating our students by showcasing their achievements and mastery of their technical skills. Visit our CTE Month website to learn more about the work of various CTE programs and participate in CTE Month events. You can also participate in the celebration by shouting out CTE students and educators on social media, using #CTEMonth and #CTEphilly.

Sincerely,

The Office of Communications
